While playing Dance Fantasy does not involve actual dancing on the part of the gamer, it does let children exercise their creative and imaginative talents by letting them choreograph the moves of one or two onscreen dancers.
Eight different figures along the bottom of the screen represent eight different dance steps. To select a step, you must guide your dancer atop one of the figures, then to the section of the dance floor where you want the step to end. The next dance step you select will begin where the last one ended, so you must determine a starting point only once. If you select a step you don't want, simply move the dancer to the top of the white block at the bottom left of the screen.
You can combine up to four different twirls, leaps, twists, slides and other maneuvers in a single dance step. A routine can be programmed to last up to three minutes and you can play it back as many times as you wish.
